By now, we all know who Chahat Fateh Ali Khan is. In case you’ve been living under a rock, he is the viral internet sensation behind the hit song ‘Bado Badi’, which won hearts globally.
But have you, dear reader, ever stopped to think about the man behind the legend? We doubt it.
After the amazing response and immense love from our audience on a story about his songs, we have decided to treat you to another piece about the icon. We watched his (40-minute long, you’re welcome) interview with Ansh Sachdeva to gather some facts about the singer. Read on to learn more!
1. His real name is Kashif Rana
and he is not actually related to the famed Fateh Ali Khan qawwal family, as he so kindly clarified for us.
2. He is married
and has seven kids, three daughters and four sons — one of whom has a degree in music. So all ladies, back off! He’s taken.
3. He used to be a professional cricketer
and has allegedly played with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar. We wonder if the cricket legend remembers him (the cricket legend being Tendulkar, not Khan).
4. He decided to be an entertainer eight years ago
and has been making music since. His other interests, or should we say, lines of work, include acting and modelling.
5. He has worked as a cab driver
and is a man of many talents, clearly. We would love to take a ride with Khan and wonder if he entertained his passengers with his original music.
6. He has released 38 tracks
all over the span of a year and a half. This great body of work contains a few cricket anthems too! PCB take note, please!
7. He deals with haters with love
and responds to hate comments with a heart emoji or by ignoring them. Of course, the most loved people are often unfortunately the most hated, so when a hater comes up to Khan in person, he replies with, “You will become my fan soon enough”.
Simply. Iconic.
